The Puerto Rican Goldilocks pulls you in unlike any other book I have read. It's as if you are creating a friendship with the author, Maricel Herrera-Anderson, and you end up bonding deeply with her by the end of the book. There are many emotional ups and downs while reading the various stories; they will make you laugh, tear up, angry, content, perplexed, happy, warm, or some crazy combination of those emotions!
The flow of the book was quite interesting. Some of the stories were poetic while others were more conversational. Though it did reflect the usual chaotic flow of life, it was a unique story format that I hadn't be introduced to before.
Maricel's talk was an honor to go to! Maricel is such an incredible and inspiring woman. Her personal experiences, and how strong she was in overcoming them is amazing. She truly touched and encouraged me to strive forward in confidence.
